One important term that you will need to fully understand when you’re in a Keto diet is a state called Ketosis.

To avoid a detailed doctors only summary that would probably just bore you (not to mention I am not a doctor) Ketosis simply means a state where your body is burning fat for energy instead of carbs and sugar (which are converted to glucose).

In short Ketosis is a good thing!    Now don’t confuse this with KetoAcidosis, which is a bad things diabetes can get.  They are two different things!

Don’t be a worry wart though, if you are injesting less than 30g of carbs per day (20g is better) then you are practically guaranteed to be in ketosis (or will be within a day or so).  Thats because there is literally nothing else for the body to burn for energy.
